A plate built for pairing

Beer House Hobbit, a beer pub in Kawaramachi, Hirakata City, Osaka, used its June 5 post to spotlight the house "fresh vegetable plate" and the day's recommended dishes. The plate is built around vegetables sourced weekly from nearby farms, with items such as seasonal vegetable jelly, shrimp and zucchini spring rolls, a summer mandarin and prosciutto salad, and fresh potato chips. The shop says the plate can be paired with four or more beers on its own.

The bar also says it uses Japanese dashi frequently, giving the space an uncommon aroma for a beer bar. Beyond the vegetable plate, the menu includes pork loin with yam and okra in sansho, grilled chicken with sansho, and five-grain takikomi rice balls, all designed with beer pairing in mind.

Draft lineup for the day

- Kozaru IPA / Minoh Brewery
- Rye Pale Ale / Kuninocho Brewery
- Peach Hazy IPA / Free Spirits Brewing
- Burp Mutant / Nat Brew
- Grafru Sour / Minoh Brewery
- Session Citra White / Hirakata Beer

The lineup brings together breweries from Osaka, Hyogo, and Toyama, with two taps each from Minoh Brewery and local Hirakata Beer on the board. The post presents Beer House Hobbit as a place where food and draft beer are designed to work together, rather than as separate attractions.
