Sakura Brewery, based in Kitakami, Iwate, began brewing in March 2015. The brewery name comes from Tenshochi, one of Kitakami's best-known cherry blossom spots. On its official site, Sakura Brewery highlights beers rooted in local ingredients and culture, including Sakura Ale made with yeast collected from Tenshochi cherry blossoms and Hayama Lager brewed with water sourced from the Iwasawa area.

In its July 15 Instagram post, the brewery introduced a triple collaboration with Yakitori Izakaya Shimadori and GOEN Inc. The caption describes it as a collaboration among businesses in Kitakami and presents two beers: THE Shimadori Weizen and THE Shimadori Ale. The post also notes that the labels turned out beautifully and encourages people to enjoy the beers alongside yakitori at Shimadori.

Sakura Brewery is also known for brewing in a British style under the guidance of an English-born brewer. By combining locally inspired core beers with collaborations involving neighborhood businesses, the brewery continues to show how closely its beer is tied to Kitakami. This post is another clear example of that approach.
