A collaboration connecting peninsulas

GRANDLINE BREWING, based in Yokosuka, Kanagawa, has launched a collaboration project called “Hanto Domei” together with SHIMODA BREWING COMPANY in Izu, Shizuoka, and Atsumi Peninsula Brewing in Tahara, Aichi. The goal is to share the appeal of peninsula regions across Japan through craft beer.

First release: Passion Voyage

The first beer in the project is “Passion Voyage,” brewed by GRANDLINE BREWING. It is a Fruited Hazy Double IPA at 8.0% ABV. The beer is built around tropical hop aromas from Citra and Mosaic, layered with passion fruit richness and the bright acidity of key lime. Wheat malt and oats are used to create a silky mouthfeel, balancing intensity with smooth drinkability.

From Yokosuka, a wider route forward

GRANDLINE BREWING opened in October 2023 in Ogawacho, Yokosuka. On its official website, the brewery describes itself as starting “a new beer adventure,” and its lineup spans hazy IPAs and sour styles. That adventurous mindset is reflected in this project as well, where beer is used as a way to express regional character.

“Hanto Domei” is designed as more than a one-off collaboration. The breweries say they want to expand the network to peninsulas nationwide and create reasons for people to travel, discover local culture, and connect through beer.
