A commemorative lager

Derailleur Brew Works is launching EIGHT BEATER today at 11:00. The beer was brewed to celebrate the 5th anniversary of Stand Umineko Yoca, the brewery's directly operated venue in Fukuoka. It is a Fresh Zest Lager with ABV 6%, IBU 33, and SRM 3, designed to feel light in appearance while still carrying a distinct character.

Bright aroma, crisp finish

The recipe combines malt, hops, lime peel, and green tea. In the glass, it is described as looking vivid and glossy, with citrus and tropical hop aromas rising immediately. On the palate, the lime peel brings a refreshing acidity and bitterness, while the green tea supports a clean, sharp finish. The brewery says it drinks smoothly, almost like a green tea highball.

A beer rooted in Nishinari

Derailleur Brew Works is based in Nishinari, Osaka, and builds its beers around the culture of a neighborhood that celebrates drinking from early in the day. True to its name, which suggests choosing one's own path, the brewery emphasizes stories and background in each release. EIGHT BEATER fits that approach well: it is a milestone beer that balances anniversary context, ingredient-driven flavor, and easy drinkability.
