A new tap lineup in Sapporo

Moyamoya Base, a beer pub located in Minami 2-jo Higashi, Chuo Ward, Sapporo, has replaced one keg and is presenting a lineup of beers from different regions and styles.

The first highlight is Minoh Beer’s Kokusan Momo Weizen Shimizu Hakuto, brewed in Osaka. Made with Shimizu Hakuto white peaches, the beer is characterized by an aromatic peach profile and gentle fruit sweetness. Its soft wheat-beer texture allows the fruit character to remain at the center, while the listed alcohol content is 5.0% ABV.

From GRANDLINE BREWING in Yokosuka, Kanagawa, comes PONZ MAGIC. This 3.0% ABV Ponzu-Style Sour Ale uses Mizkan ponzu and combines a refreshing acidity with a subtle sweetness. Light and food-friendly, it offers an unusual interpretation of the familiar Japanese citrus seasoning.

The third beer is Shinsekai Neuromance from Derailleur Brew Works in Osaka. Listed at 7.0% ABV, this IPA is known for its concept inspired by Osaka’s mixed-fruit juice. Peach and banana notes contribute a rich fruit impression, while the IPA base gives the beer a fuller presence.

Together, the lineup covers a fruit-driven wheat beer, a bright and low-alcohol sour ale, and a richer fruit-oriented IPA. Moyamoya Base’s changing taps offer beer drinkers in Sapporo an opportunity to compare very different approaches to fruit and acidity in craft beer.
