Six beers from across Japan
Moyamoya Base, a beer pub located in Sapporo’s Chuo Ward, thanked guests who attended its “White Sheep vs. Black Fox” beer showdown and published the event’s tap list. The pub also noted that beers connected with events before and after the showcase would continue to overlap for a while.
From Hokkaido’s Black Fox Beer, the lineup included “苺泥棒,” a beer whose strawberry-inspired name suggests a fruit-forward character. Hokkaido’s Shibetsu Samurai Brewery was represented by two beers: “靄々 (moyamoya)” and “JUICY HAZE.” Together, they offered a chance to compare a beer sharing the pub’s name with another that evokes a juicy hop profile.
Fukuoka-based NEKOBEER contributed “限界通風ヒョウニキのゴゴッ!ゴゴッ!ゴッゴ!ゴールデンエール,” a golden ale with an eye-catching name. Miyagi’s BLACK TIDE BREWING brought “KESENNUMA PRIDE,” adding a beer from the Tohoku region to the selection.
The sixth beer was “Globba” from VERTERE in Tokyo. With breweries from several regions and a range of brewing approaches represented, the tap list was well suited to side-by-side tasting and discovering differences in aroma, body, and finish.
