Derailleur Brew Works Releases COSMIC G1RL EXPLORER #002
Osaka-based Derailleur Brew Works has released COSMIC G1RL EXPLORER #002, a Berliner-style Weisse brewed with mango purée and pineapple juice. With bright acidity, juicy fruit character, and a sparkling emerald-green appearance, the 4% beer brings a cosmic concept to the glass.
Derailleur Brew Works, based in Nishinari, Osaka, has released COSMIC G1RL EXPLORER #002. According to the brewery’s Instagram announcement, sales began at 11:00 through its online shop.
The beer is based on a Berliner-style Weisse fermented with Philly Sour yeast. Mango purée and pineapple juice are added to create a balance between pineapple’s fresh, lively character and mango’s rich sweetness. It has an ABV of 4% and an IBU of 4, making it a light, fruit-forward beer with refreshing acidity.
The release is accompanied by an elaborate science-fiction setting. In the post, the Orbital Ring has no night, yet people still long for it. Explorers, a hop genome engineer, and a technician returning from the moon gather fragments of lost things, deconstruct them, and rebuild them into something that can dance.
In the glass, the beer takes on an emerald-green color reminiscent of outer space, while edible shimmer evokes stardust. Its striking appearance is matched by a combination of tartness, fruit sweetness, and an easy-drinking 4% alcohol level.
Derailleur Brew Works describes itself as a collective of a craft beer factory and creative project team, rooted in Nishinari, a neighborhood known for enjoying drinks from the morning. The brewery’s approach extends beyond flavor to labels and storytelling, and COSMIC G1RL EXPLORER #002 continues that tradition with a vivid visual identity and a cosmic narrative.
