Five Craft Beers Pour at Moyamoya Base in Sapporo
Moyamoya Base, a beer pub in Sapporo’s Minami 2-jo Higashi district, has announced a varied craft beer lineup. The selection spans a session saison from Hokkaido, a DDH hazy pale ale from Aichi, an NZ IPA from Osaka, a hazy IPA from Aomori, and a Schwarzbier from Tochigi.

From Hokkaido, SOSEI EAST OBSERVATION RECORD／SEOR #1 is a 4.5% session saison. It is the first craft beer from a 10-year project focused on observing and recording Sosei yeast.
Aichi’s Totopia Brewery “Spherephobia” is a 5.0% DDH Hazy Pale Ale. The beer is described as dry and crisp, with a floral white-grape character and a green, fresh fruit-peel impression.
From Osaka, Derailleur Brew Works “Danube Hyper Doll” is a 6.5% NZ IPA. New Zealand hops bring soft tropical aromas, while the finish is clean, dry, and moderately bitter.
Aomori’s Be Easy Brewing “Oraho no Chape” is a 6.0% Hazy IPA. The brewery presents it as an innovative beer made through a new brewing approach, with an intensely juicy character.
The Tochigi selection is Ushitora Brewery “Kuso Sou de Nigakunai Sukoshi Nigai Schwarz”, a 4.5% German-style Schwarzbier. Despite its dark color, it is designed to be easy-drinking, clean, and approachable.
Beers are available in regular 370ml and small 250ml pours. With everything from a light saison and hop-forward pale ale to IPA and dark lager, Moyamoya Base offers plenty of options for exploring Japan’s diverse craft beer scene in Sapporo.
