Kyoto Brewing Releases Spring-Limited IPA "Haru no Kimagure 2026" on February 23
Kyoto Brewing, based in Minami Ward, Kyoto, released its seasonal IPA "Haru no Kimagure 2026" on February 23, 2026. Designed to balance bright aromatics with easy drinkability, it is being offered as a beer meant for the lingering cold days leading into full spring.
Seasonal limited release to coincide with the arrival of spring
Kyoto Brewing's new release, "Haru no Kimagure 2026," is the spring edition of its seasonal "Kimagure" series. The style is IPA, with specs of ABV 6.0% / IBU 40 / carbonation volume 2.65. On the official store, it is listed as a related product at 650 yen per bottle (tax included).
A flavor design centered on "brightness" and "drinkability"
The core idea behind the recipe is to keep a satisfying drinking presence while avoiding a heavy finish. The malt bill combines Pilsner, Munich, wheat, and dextrin malt to aim for a soft mouthfeel. The hops used are NZ Cascade, Rakau, Nelson Sauvin, and Citra. The profile layers aromas reminiscent of citrus, white grape, pineapple, and papaya, with a resinous finish.
London ale yeast is used to reinforce the lightly hazy appearance and juicy aroma. As a result, it achieves both enough body to suit slightly chilly early-spring days and the drinkability to keep you moving through the day with ease.
Kyoto Brewing in context
Kyoto Brewing is a brewery based in Takabatacho, Nishikujo, Minami Ward, Kyoto City. The three people who met in Aomori in 2005 founded the brewery in the spring of 2015 with the aim of helping expand Japan's craft beer culture. It built its presence through brewing that makes use of Belgian yeast, and in recent years it has been strengthening its combinations with modern hops while pushing ahead with canned products and equipment investment.
Seen in that context, "Haru no Kimagure 2026" distills Kyoto Brewing's signature yeast-derived softness and contemporary hop expression into a seasonal release. As an IPA suited to spring meals and outdoor drinking occasions, it is a release that shows where the brewery stands today.
