A new beer destination in central Kyoto
Kyoto Brewing will preview-open Kyoto Brewing Tap Stand on September 18, 2026, in Bizenjima-cho, Nakagyo Ward, Kyoto. The venue will be the brewery’s first directly operated store in central Kyoto.
Founded in 2015, Kyoto Brewing has developed a diverse beer program influenced by traditional Belgian brewing techniques and modern American craft beer culture. The new tap stand extends that work into one of Kyoto’s busiest central areas, within walking distance of Kyoto-Kawaramachi and Gion-Shijo stations.
The store is located in Kiyamachi, close to the Takase River and the Kamogawa River. Inside, the venue will feature a standing counter for approximately eight to ten guests, along with seating for around six to eight people. A spacious shared outdoor area in front of the building will also allow visitors to enjoy their beer in an open setting.
Six to eight beers on tap
Kyoto Brewing Tap Stand will offer six to eight draft beers, supported by a canned beer selection, soft drinks, simple cocktails, and original merchandise. No food service is planned, keeping the focus on casual beer drinking.
The shop will operate with cashless, cash-on service, meaning customers pay for each order in advance. Beer consumed on site will be served in glassware, while takeaway orders will be served in plastic cups. In addition to the standing counter, a dedicated takeaway window will make it easy to pick up a beer before exploring the surrounding neighborhood.
Opening hours are scheduled for 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on weekdays and 2:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on weekends and public holidays. Last orders are at 10:30 p.m. Visitors should check Kyoto Brewing’s official website for the latest information, as operating details and tap selections may change.
