Mojiko Beer House (Mojiko Beer) in Kitakyushu has won a Country Winner title in the Japan Weizen category at the World Beer Awards 2026 with its flagship Weizen. In its Instagram post, the brewery said it was honored to be recognized on a global stage and shared its determination to keep working toward World’s Best.

According to the brewery’s official site, Weizen is its best-known beer and a longtime customer favorite. It uses 60% wheat malt and is brewed in a Southern German Hefeweizen style, with fruity aromas, a soft mouthfeel, and an alcohol content of about 5.5%. The beer has also earned domestic awards over the years.

Mojiko Beer House is based in the Mojiko area of Kitakyushu, a district known for its retro harbor atmosphere. As a brewery restaurant, it has focused on pairing fresh beer with food. The company also says it keeps production small-batch and avoids pasteurization and filtration to preserve freshness. This latest award is a clear sign that a locally honed house beer is being recognized internationally as well.
