The 8th Kyushu Oktoberfest in Mojiko will be held from October 9 to 12, 2026, at Mojiko Retro Central Plaza in Kitakyushu, Fukuoka. Admission is free, and visitors can enjoy Festbier from Kyushu breweries, authentic German beer, and local food.
Four Kyushu breweries will present their own Festbier, brewed in the traditional Oktoberfest style. Festbier is generally associated with Märzen-style beer, brewed in spring and matured for several months before autumn. Its defining qualities include rich malt aroma, a rounded body, and a slightly higher alcohol level, with malt character taking precedence over hop bitterness.
Mojiko Beer is expected to serve its Weizen and limited releases. The brewery’s signature Weizen is a South German-style Hefeweizen made with 60% wheat malt. It is known for fruity aromas reminiscent of banana and apple, along with subtle clove notes and a soft, rounded palate.
Mojiko Beer places emphasis on preserving the character of beer and does not use heat pasteurization or filtration. Its small-batch brewing process uses approximately 700 liters per brew. The brewery also offers house-made meats and sausages, making food pairing an important part of its beer experience.
In addition to Mojiko Beer, the event will feature Kumamoto Craft Beer, KIRISHIMA BEER, and Miyazaki Hideji Beer. Hofbräu Oktoberfestbier from Germany is also scheduled to be served. Guests can compare the different Festbier interpretations, as well as other beers from each brewery.
Opening hours are 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on October 9, noon to 9:00 p.m. on October 10 and 11, and noon to 7:00 p.m. on October 12. The venue is approximately a 15-minute walk from Mojiko Station, and there is no dedicated parking. Beer selections may be limited and will end when sold out.
