West Coast Brewing of Shizuoka City will hold "Craft Beer Invitational at TOKYO MIDTOWN" together with AQ Bevolution. The venue is Midtown Garden at Tokyo Midtown in Roppongi, and the event will run for two days on Monday, May 4, and Tuesday, May 5, both national holidays. Admission is free, and 16 of Japan's top breweries will gather in the grassy plaza in the heart of the city.
In addition to lager-style and IPA-style beers brought by each brewery, the event will also feature a special pour called "Wild Card," a beer you do not often get to encounter. Participating breweries include Be Easy Brewing, BLACK TIDE BREWING, Kyoto Brewing, Minoh Beer, Shiga Kogen Beer, VERTERE, and West Coast Brewing, making for a wide range of tasting options.
The food lineup has also expanded from last year, with meat dishes, pizza, tacos, curry, and more. Another highlight is that the brewers themselves are expected to attend, allowing guests to enjoy the event while hearing directly about the beers' backgrounds and brewing stories. Advance tickets have been on sale via Peatix since April 3 and are priced more favorably than same-day tickets. True to WCB, a Shizuoka brewery that has been expanding its presence nationwide, this looks set to be an event where visitors can experience the current state of craft beer in the very center of the city.
