West Coast Brewing to Open New Roppongi Direct-Operated Venue ‘Instant Classic’ on July 24
Shizuoka-based West Coast Brewing will open its new directly operated venue, Instant Classic, inside Tokyo Midtown in Roppongi on July 24. A reservation-only soft opening is scheduled for July 21.
West Coast Brewing, based in Shizuoka City, will open a new directly operated venue, Instant Classic, in the Garden Terrace basement level of Tokyo Midtown in Roppongi on Friday, July 24. The move follows the brewery’s annual popup run at the same area under the WCB TOKYO MIDTOWN name, and this time the brand is shifting into a permanent space.
According to the announcement, the new venue will take a slightly different approach from previous WCB formats. While keeping the brewery’s identity intact, the concept is described as a more authentic, refined, high-end beer restaurant. The food program will be based on West Coast American cuisine, with Tex-Mex at the core and dishes such as burgers, sandwiches, and tacos planned to pair with the beer lineup. The draft system will feature 16 taps, and a dedicated TO GO counter for cans and draft beer sold by measure will operate alongside the main venue.
Before the grand opening, a reservation-only soft opening is set for Tuesday, July 21. Reservations will begin on July 1 at 7:00 p.m. via TableCheck. From July 24 onward, the venue will operate from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., with lunch, tea time, and dinner service. The brewery also says Derek and Shunta are scheduled to be on site on opening day.
For beer fans, the new location adds a permanent WCB base in one of Tokyo’s busiest districts. After years of popup activity, Instant Classic will be watched closely as a place where the brewery’s beers and food program can be experienced on a day-to-day basis.
