Baeren Brewery, based in Morioka, Iwate, is set to host an event that lets visitors experience hops up close at its Shizukuishi factory grounds. Known for its traditional brewing style and equipment, including a copper kettle moved from Germany more than 100 years ago, Baeren has long emphasized craftsmanship rooted in beer culture.

At the 'Hops Harvest Festival BAEREN x Shizukuishi,' visitors will be able to enjoy freshly poured draft beer brewed at the Shizukuishi factory for JPY 450 per glass. The program also includes hop harvesting experiences for JPY 500 per person and free brewery tours. In addition, a special-price beer set will be available for the event, making it a good opportunity to learn about hops and brewing while tasting the beer.

The festival will run on Sunday, Aug. 9, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the front of Baeren Shizukuishi Factory (53 Nukekaeri, Shizukuishi Town). Free shuttle buses will run from Koiwai Station and Shizukuishi Town Hall, and parking will also be provided. The venue will offer 200 seats under tents, and visitors are welcome to bring their own folding chairs, making it a relaxed summer outing for families and beer fans alike.
