A special beer for the sixth anniversary

Baeren Brewery, based in Morioka, Iwate, has brewed “Baeren × Ofchicke Torioh Red” to celebrate six years of collaboration with Ofchicke. Known for creating beers inspired by European brewing traditions, the brewery has developed this release around a historic German style and a food-friendly profile.

The beer’s defining visual feature is its deep ruby color, created by blending three types of malt. The malt bill contributes aromas reminiscent of toast and caramel, while gentle German hops add a restrained layer of hop aroma without overpowering the malt character.

Inspired by Franconian everyday beer

Torioh Red takes inspiration from a historic “everyday beer” brewed in Germany’s Franconia region since the late Middle Ages. Rather than aiming solely for intensity, the beer is designed as a companion for everyday meals.

All of the brewing ingredients are sourced from Germany. Toasted malt notes and caramel-like nuances are balanced by the soft character of German hops, giving the beer a rounded profile suited to the table. Baeren specifically highlights its compatibility with chicken dishes, making it a natural match for roasted chicken, herb-seasoned dishes, and teriyaki-style preparations.

The beer is available through Baeren’s official web shop and its Rakuten shop. Release dates and sales channels may vary by retailer, so customers should check each sales page for the latest availability information.
