The Annual Spring Event Begins with the Eve Festival

Baeren Brewing is a brewery based in Kitayama, Morioka City, Iwate Prefecture. Using brewing equipment more than 100 years old that was moved from southern Germany, it carries on classic brewing methods to this day. That is the Baeren behind the springtime annual event announced here: “Spring Fest 2026.”

This year’s highlight is its five-day structure, starting with the eve festival on May 2, followed by the main event from May 3 to 5, and then an extension round on May 6. The eve festival runs from 10:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with food vendors open until 3:00 p.m. Rather than all-you-can-drink, draft beer will be sold one glass at a time, and four varieties are planned. Prices are 500 yen per beer in a plastic cup, or 400 yen if you bring the event’s original mug.

Planned Schedule

- May 2: Eve festival
- May 3 to 5: Main event
- May 6: Extension round

The main event runs from 11:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and the venue is a special event site within the Baeren brewery grounds, in front of the Kitayama factory. Advance tickets are 2,800 yen per day and will be sold through two channels: participating retailers and Peatix. Sales are limited to 450 tickets per day, and advance purchase is required. The venue will also offer food matched to Iwate’s local cuisine, making this an event designed around the pairing of beer and food, very much in Baeren’s style.

There will be no shuttle bus service for the eve festival, so those planning to come by car should confirm access information in advance. Baeren is located in the Kitayama district, relatively close to Morioka Station, and is loved as a “brewery in the middle of town” with brewery tours and a direct sales shop.

As a way to enjoy freshly brewed beer paired with local food during the spring holiday period, this year’s Spring Fest is likely to draw attention as well.
