Far Yeast Brewing Releases Second Spacia X Collaboration Beer
Far Yeast Brewing will roll out the second collaboration beer with Tobu Railway's flagship limited express, Spacia X: "Spacia X Blonde 1st Car Edition 2nd." It will be served and sold sequentially from May 2 at the onboard cafe, at directly operated stores, and through the official online store, and will be shipped to liquor retailers and others from May 11.
Far Yeast Brewing (Kosuge Village, Yamanashi Prefecture) announced "Spacia X Blonde 1st Car Edition 2nd" as the second collaboration beer with Tobu Railway's flagship limited express, Spacia X. It was brewed again in response to the reaction to the first release that debuted last October.
This beer will be served sequentially from May 2 at the cafe counter "GOEN CAFÉ SPACIA X" in the first car of Spacia X, and will also be sold at Far Yeast Brewing's directly operated store "Far Yeast Tokyo" and its official online store. Shipments to liquor stores, restaurants, and beer bars will begin sequentially from May 11.
This collaboration is part of Tobu Railway's "Cross Beer Project," which co-creates craft beers served onboard Spacia X with breweries across Japan. It is characterized by a design that layers local ingredients onto the travel experience of Spacia X. This time, the brewery combined barley malt from Tochigi Prefecture, a blessing of the line, with hops from Yamanashi Prefecture, home base of Far Yeast Brewing, to create a golden ale that brings out the character of each ingredient.
The specs are as follows.
- Style: Golden Ale
- Alcohol content: 5.0%
- IBU: 12
- Ingredients: Malt (from Tochigi Prefecture), hops, sugars
- Hops: Chinook, Cascade
Far Yeast Brewing is known as a brewery based in Kosuge Village, Yamanashi, that actively pursues limited releases and collaborations. For a company that has continued to make beer using local resources, this project tied to a railway journey is a good example of connecting local ingredients with the drinker's experience. Of course, a pint enjoyed onboard Spacia X is one thing, but with sales expanding to stores and liquor shops as well, it looks set to become a beer that lets you revisit the memory of the trip at home.
