Tambaji Brewery's Terano South marks 9 years with its first Weizen
Terano South, the pub attached to Tambaji Brewery in Sasayama, Hyogo, marked its ninth anniversary on June 24. To commemorate the milestone, the brewery brewed its first Weizen, signaling a step toward its 10th year.
Tambaji Brewery is a small-scale brewery that opened in June 2017 in what was then Sasayama City, Hyogo, with a brew length of 400 liters per batch. At the adjoining pub, Terano South, guests can enjoy house beers and guest beers on up to six taps, along with food designed to pair with beer.
In the anniversary post, the brewery first expressed gratitude for reaching nine years in business on June 24. It then revealed that a Weizen had been brewed as the ninth-anniversary beer. Tambaji has brewed Belgian White as a wheat beer before, but this is its first attempt at a Weizen. For beer fans, the style choice is notable: it should bring the soft, wheat-driven character that defines the style, but the final balance will be the real point of interest.
Choosing a style the brewery had never made before is a fitting move for a milestone release. It reflects a brewery that keeps refining its regular lineup while still making room for new ideas. As Terano South heads toward its 10th anniversary, the milestone underscores both its role as a local beer bar in Sasayama and the brewery's continuing experimentation.
