A new base near Choshi Station

Choshi Beer, the craft beer brand based in Choshi City, Chiba Prefecture, has surpassed the 7 million yen target for its crowdfunding campaign to open a new shop in the Choshi Station area. With three days remaining, the campaign has raised 7.63 million yen, reached 109% of its goal, and gathered support from 383 backers.

The project was launched with the idea of making the station front a place where visitors can encounter Choshi’s character as soon as they arrive. Choshi Station is the terminal of the JR Soubu Main Line and the starting point of the Choshi Electric Railway, making it a key gateway for both tourists and local residents. The planned shop is meant to be an easy stop for a first beer on a trip, a drink on the way home, or a casual visit after work.

Choshi Beer has long focused on brewing beers that pair well with local fish and reflect the character of Choshi. Through Choshi Cheers Co., the brewery has built its business as a regional brand producer rooted in the city. The new station-front shop is a natural extension of that approach.

According to the campaign page and press materials, the funds will go toward launch preparations, interior and exterior work, equipment, and opening operations. Rewards include name listings on an in-store board, limited-edition beer, dining tickets, brewery tours with tastings, and invitations to the grand opening party.

For Choshi Beer, this is more than a store expansion. It is an effort to create a place where people gather, conversations start, and the city’s appeal is connected to the station area. The final three days will show how far that vision can be carried.
