The fourth release, with a desire to protect headwaters

Far Yeast Brewing, based in Kosuge Village, Yamanashi Prefecture, will sell in limited quantities from May 20 the fourth installment of its collaborative beer 'BACK TO RIVER,' brewed jointly with Trailheads Co., Ltd. This renewal is intended to increase the number of people who sympathize with the 'BACK TO RIVER' project, an awareness campaign to protect headwater areas across Japan, and to expand the initiative.

A lighter, more citrus-forward finish

'BACK TO RIVER' is an American pale ale that updates the recipe from the first release, which was well received. With an ABV of 4.5%, it is designed to be easy to drink, even in outdoor settings. This time, the aromatic impression has also been revised, resulting in a profile with stronger citrus and tropical notes.

Specifications are as follows.

- Style: American Pale Ale
- ABV: 4.5%
- IBU: 20
- Hops: Citra, Comet, Centennial, Mosaic Cryo, Mosaic Dynaboost, Citra Dynaboost
- Brewery: Far Yeast Brewing Genryu Brewery (Kosuge Village, Yamanashi Prefecture)

A portion of sales will go toward environmental conservation

This beer is not just a seasonal limited release; it is also a product linked to efforts to pass rivers and nature on to the next generation. A portion of product sales is expected to be donated to activities that protect rivers and the natural environment. Far Yeast Brewing has continued not only to share the appeal of craft beer, but also to carry out initiatives rooted in local nature and culture. Once again, that stance is reflected both in the beer's design and in the project itself.

Where to buy it

Sales will begin gradually through the official 'BACK TO RIVER' store, as well as liquor retailers, beer bars, and restaurants nationwide. It is likely to draw attention from outdoor-loving beer fans as a beer you will want to enjoy with friends while imagining the scenery of the headwaters and time spent playing by the river.
