Freespirits Brewing Unveils Oyster Stout Made with Oysters from Harimanada
Freespirits Brewing, based in Himeji, Hyogo Prefecture, has unveiled an "Oyster Stout" made with oysters harvested from Harimanada. The beer is 7% ABV and will be tapped in a limited release from 5:00 p.m. at the Kyoto Yuagari Craft Beer Festival 2026.
Freespirits Brewing, based in Himeji, Hyogo Prefecture, is a brewery known for American-style hop-forward beers and fruit beers that make use of local ingredients. The facility also includes a restaurant and beer garden, and the team continues to brew with a freeform, creative approach.
The newly unveiled beer is the "Oyster Stout," made with fresh oysters harvested from Harimanada. The style is stout, and the alcohol content is 7%. It is designed to pair the coffee- and chocolate-like aromas derived from roasted malt with a dry, easy-to-drink profile, while leaving a finish that evokes the sea.
This beer is scheduled for a limited tap opening at the `Kyoto Yuagari Craft Beer Festival 2026` from 5:00 p.m. The event will be held on May 2 and 3, with a pre-event on April 25 and 26. The post also notes that no special beer will be served at the pre-event. It is envisioned not only as a match for oyster dishes, but also for red meat and chocolate desserts.
