Grandline Brewing Offers Yokosuka Craft Beer Sets Through Furusato Nozei
Yokosuka-based Grandline Brewing has introduced two craft beer return-gift options for Japan’s furusato nozei hometown tax program: a six-bottle set and a three-bottle set. The beers are selected by the brewery, giving drinkers the chance to discover seasonal releases and unexpected favorites.
A box of beers chosen for Yokosuka fans
Grandline Brewing, a craft brewery in Yokosuka, Kanagawa, is offering two furusato nozei return-gift sets: “SURPRISE 6” and “SURPRISE 3.”
SURPRISE 6 contains six bottles—two each of three different beers. SURPRISE 3 contains three bottles. The brewery selects the contents, so donors cannot choose specific labels or styles. Instead, each shipment features beers selected for the season, making the set an opportunity to encounter a beer that might not otherwise make it into one’s shopping basket.
The brewery carries out its production process in Yokosuka, from milling the malt through applying the labels. The sets therefore offer more than a selection of beer: they also provide a way to support local industry while tasting the brewery’s evolving work.
An open-ended tasting adventure
Grandline Brewing’s official lineup spans a range of styles, including American IPA, Hazy IPA, Hazy Double IPA, Brut IPA, and Fruited Sour Ale. Current examples include KANPAI YOKOSUKA – 3rd Anniversary at 7.0% ABV, SUPERMERGE at 6.5% ABV, and Hello, World (2026) at 8.0% ABV.
The beers included in the furusato nozei sets vary by season, and the brewery notes that the actual contents may differ from promotional images. That uncertainty is part of the appeal: the tasting begins when the box arrives, but the reveal comes only when each bottle is opened.
The sets are shipped refrigerated, and recipients should store them in the refrigerator and enjoy them while fresh. With its mission of connecting Yokosuka’s beer culture to Japan and the wider world, Grandline Brewing offers a distinctive way to support the city—one surprise pour at a time. Alcohol is for adults of legal drinking age only.
