For craft beer fans in Miyazaki, two days packed with fermentation culture are on the way. According to event information released by Hideji Beer Mukabaki Brewery, the "Miyazaki Fermentation Festa" will be held as an event where visitors can broadly enjoy fermented foods and drinks from Miyazaki and Kyushu.

Event Overview

- Venue: MRT Mic Diamond Hall, Miyazaki City
- Contents: In addition to fermented foods such as miso, soy sauce, and pickles, shochu, craft beer, and wine will gather together
- Concurrent event: MIYAZAKI SAKE FES

Advance tickets cost 2,000 yen, consisting of five 500-yen coupons. They are available at the two stores, "Miyazaki Hideji Beer in HAROW" and "kyushu craft STAND miyazaki," and reservations are also accepted.

On the day of the event, there are also planned live fermentation-cooking demonstrations by chef Masayuki Okuda of Al-che-cciano and a lecture titled "Health Through Fermentation" by Koizumi Takeo, honorary professor at Tokyo University of Agriculture, creating an experience where visitors can "learn while drinking" through food and sake.

Based in Miyazaki and Nobeoka, Hideji Beer has strengthened its beer-making efforts using local ingredients since relaunching as a new corporation in 2010. The brewery has built a track record with brands using ingredients from Miyazaki and has earned recognition in beer awards in Japan and abroad. This participation should give visitors a chance to experience firsthand the brewery's ongoing effort to connect local fermentation culture with craft beer.

For anyone in Miyazaki in spring who wants to enjoy fermented foods, local sake, and craft beer all in one place, it would be wise to secure advance tickets early.
