Far Yeast Genryu Brewery Starts Shipping New Bicycle Coffee Tokyo Collaboration
Far Yeast Brewing's Genryu Brewery in Yamanashi has announced the limited collaboration brew "Far Yeast Bicycle Coffee Lager" with Bicycle Coffee Tokyo. Shipments will begin in stages from March 19, 2026, through the official online store and to liquor retailers, restaurants, and beer bars nationwide.
Far Yeast Brewing announced on Instagram a new collaboration with the natural roastery Bicycle Coffee Tokyo: "Far Yeast Bicycle Coffee Lager." According to the post, the company and Bicycle Coffee Tokyo have been collaborating for many years, and this release arrives as a Coffee Lager built on a hoppy lager base.
What stands out in this recipe is the way the lager's clean profile is layered with fruitiness from coffee. It combines lightly roasted Ethiopian and Guatemalan coffee beans, linking them to a hop impression reminiscent of citrus. The specs are ABV 5.0% / IBU 20 / hops: Citra, aiming for a balance that works both with meals and on its own.
According to the product information released officially, it will be available in 350 ml cans and 15 L kegs. In addition to the regular label, Bicycle Coffee Tokyo stores will also offer a limited-label can. The collaboration beer is designed so that you can enjoy differences in the experience depending on the sales channel.
Brewing is handled by Far Yeast Brewing Genryu Brewery in Kosuge Village, Yamanashi Prefecture. On its website, the company describes the site as a base equipped with temperature conditions important for fermentation and as a place to work on a variety of styles. In this environment, the lager-building expertise cultivated there is combined with the flavor approach of a coffee roaster, giving this beer the potential to update preconceived notions about the "heaviness" of coffee beer.
As spring approaches, it looks set to be a collaboration release that's hard to miss for drinkers seeking both lightness and depth of aroma.
