Far Yeast Brewing, based in Kosuge Village, Yamanashi Prefecture, began selling Far Yeast Peach Haze on April 15 as part of its "Brewed with YAMANASHI" initiative, which makes use of local Yamanashi ingredients. It is a hazy-style fruit pale ale made with 500 kg of peaches from Peacha Senka Yamashita, a peach farm in Yamanashi City.
This beer was born in July 2020 as the first release of the "Yamanashi Support Project," and has been brewed and sold every year since. From 2022, it was positioned as a spring-summer staple, and in 2024 it was renewed as "Brewed with YAMANASHI," a project that highlights co-creation with the region. This bottle reflects Far Yeast Brewing's ongoing effort to translate Yamanashi agricultural products into beer and share them consistently.
On the recipe side, the brewery uses Pomona yeast, also used in Hazy IPAs, to create haze and a smooth mouthfeel. It also dry-hops with Idaho7 Cryo, Citra, and Nectaron, layering citrus and tropical-fruit nuances over the peach aroma. The specs are 5.0% ABV and 10 IBU. It will be available in 350 ml cans and 15 L kegs.
Shipments to liquor retailers, restaurants, and beer bars nationwide are scheduled to begin in stages from April 16, while shipments from the official online store are scheduled to begin in stages from April 17. As a seasonal product that feels distinctly like Yamanashi, the peach-producing region, it is likely to attract attention again this year.
