Hideji Beer’s 30th Anniversary Part 2: Collaboration Brew with Mojiko Retro Beer Revealed
Hideji Beer Mukabaki Brewery announced a collaborative brew with Mojiko Retro Beer as the second installment of its 30th anniversary commemorative collaboration project. The style is Hefeweizen. Release is planned for late April, and it is expected to be limited in quantity.
Miyazaki’s Hideji Beer Mukabaki Brewery has released new information about its 30th anniversary project. What has now been revealed is a collaboration brew with Mojiko Retro Beer (@mojikoretrobeer) in Kitakyushu.
According to the post, this marks the realization of the breweries’ first-ever brewer collaboration. The beer style is Hefeweizen, and the recipe is a special one that combines Mojiko Retro Beer’s Weizen brewing techniques with the hops used in Hideji Beer’s flagship beer, "Taiyo no Lager." The goal is to layer the yeast-derived aroma of a Weizen with a bright hop character.
The release is scheduled for late April. However, no specific date has been announced yet, and the beer is expected to be offered in limited quantities. In addition, the “third company” in the 30th anniversary collaboration series is also set to be announced soon. There is now even more to look forward to as the series unfolds.
Hideji Beer brews at the foot of Mt. Mukabaki in northern Miyazaki Prefecture, and its official website also emphasizes brewing centered on natural water and a house-cultured yeast. This project, which intersects external brewery techniques while remaining grounded in regional character, appears to be a renewed expression of the company’s "Think Global, Brew Local." philosophy at the milestone of its 30th anniversary.
