Wymarket Brewing to release Hazy IPA “FANTASMA” on April 2, evoking the afterglow of cotton candy
Wymarket Brewing, the brewery in Nagoya’s Yanagibashi Market, will release its Hazy IPA “FANTASMA” on April 2. Centered on the fleeting sweetness of cotton candy, it layers impressions of candy, strawberry, vanilla, and coconut into one glass.
A Hazy IPA that drifts in lightly and disappears just as softly
Wymarket Brewing’s new release, “FANTASMA,” is a Hazy IPA that expresses the fleeting sweetness of cotton candy through beer. With a hazy straw-yellow appearance paired with a light to medium body, it is designed to feel silky on the palate.
Its aroma is built around candy- and strawberry-like notes, layered with hints of vanilla and coconut. While it carries a sweet impression, a subtle grapefruit-like bitterness sharpens the finish, keeping it from becoming one-dimensional. The hops used are EL Dorado, Idaho Gem, Sabro, and Talus. Its IBU is 15.78, and its alcohol content is 6.0%.
Distinctive, playful beer grown in the heart of Nagoya
Wymarket Brewing began brewing in Nagoya in January 2014, making it the city’s first craft beer brewery. Rooted in the history of the Meieki area and Yanagibashi Central Wholesale Market, it has continued creating beers that add color to the table. Its official website also highlights a commitment to delivering beers that are distinctive, challenging, and enjoyable for drinkers.
Within that context, “FANTASMA” makes a strong statement of individuality while remaining light on the palate. Rather than relying on flash alone, it is the kind of Hazy IPA that leaves an impression through the balance of aroma, sweetness, bitterness, and finish. It will be released on April 2, 2026, and looks like a spring beer worth slowly appreciating for its shifting aromas.
