A new lager on tap in Kobe

BEER SPACE on Tap, located in Motomachi, Kobe, has announced the tapping of Shiga Kogen Beer’s HOUSE LAGER 3.02 Sankei Nishiki. The beer is listed at 5.5% ABV and 18 IBU, and is brewed with the brewery’s own-grown sake rice, Sankei Nishiki, along with spelt wheat.

The beer pours a bright blond and combines gentle rice-derived umami with a subtle sweetness. Its palate is clean and sharp, while noble hops provide herbal notes and homegrown Cascade adds a restrained fruitiness. The finish is dry and refreshing, with enough rounded rice character to make it especially suitable with food.

The post notes that Relax was close to being poured out.
