The story of Tanikazu, the representative of CRAFT BEER BASE, is amazing. He entered the beer industry at 26, worked at a Belgian beer specialty shop, then earned a beer judge qualification and even served as a judge at overseas competitions as Japan's representative.

And after giving birth in 2007, she took an office job for a while, but then returned to the beer world and founded the company in Umeda, Osaka in 2012. It started as a liquor store and beer pub, but in 2018 they obtained a brewing license, and from 2019 they began in-house brewing as CBB Brewing Lab.

The story of head brewer Junya Abe is great too. He was originally the manager of CBB's flagship store, and instead of bringing in an outside brewer, he raised his hand and said he wanted to learn from scratch.

Their flagship Lavender & Chamomile is a beer fermented with lavender and chamomile used in herbal tea added to the wort, and it won gold at the European Beer Star. Mistral DH Pale Ale is an elegant pale ale with a floral aroma made with French Mistral hops.

Because they release new creations almost every week in small 200-liter batches, you encounter a different beer every time you go. At the main store, MOTHER TREE, about 500 kinds of craft beer are lined up in six refrigerators, and the brewing tanks are visible from inside the store.

Taniguchi also publishes the Osaka craft beer map, now in its seventh edition. Under the banner of 'Made in Oyodo,' he's trying to nurture not just his own beer but Osaka's craft beer culture as a whole.
