Grandline Brewing, based in Yokosuka, Kanagawa, has launched the “Peninsula Alliance” together with SHIMODA BREWING COMPANY in Shizuoka and Atsumi Peninsula Brewery in Aichi. The three breweries will work together to highlight the appeal of peninsula regions through craft beer, starting with the first release, “Passion Voyage.”

A collaboration built around peninsula regions

Grandline Brewing opened in October 2023 near Yokosuka-Chuo Station. On its official website, the brewery says it aims to spread the spirit of kanpai and to create beers with a distinctive concept. In that context, this new project is designed as more than a one-off collaboration: it is meant to build a foundation for exchange among peninsula communities.

According to the release, the name “Peninsula Alliance” reflects a broader ambition. Rather than remaining a closed trio, the project is intended as a starting point that could connect with peninsula regions across Japan. By using craft beer as a medium, the breweries want to express local climate, food, and culture in flavor, and turn places that once felt “far away” into destinations people want to visit.

First release: Passion Voyage

Grandline Brewing is handling the brewing for the first beer in the series. `Passion Voyage` is a `Fruited Hazy Double IPA` at 8.0% ABV. The beer combines tropical hop aromas from Citra and Mosaic with passion fruit and key lime, while wheat and oats are used to create a soft, silky texture.

Peninsula regions often share strong food and landscape identities, but they can also feel geographically distant. This project tries to bridge that gap through beer, creating a reason for fans to travel and experience each place firsthand. It will be worth watching how the distinct character of Miura, Atsumi, and Izu develops through the alliance.
