Far Yeast Brewing Releases Limited-Batch "Far Yeast Peach Haze" Made with Peaches from Yamanashi City
Far Yeast Brewing, based in Kosuge Village, Yamanashi Prefecture, has released this year’s fruit pale ale "Far Yeast Peach Haze," made with peaches from Peach Specialty Yamashita, a peach farm in Yamanashi City. The hazy-style beer layers a cloudy appearance with peach aroma and is being offered as a limited spring-summer brew.
Far Yeast Brewing, based in Kosuge Village, Yamanashi Prefecture, has released its limited-batch "Far Yeast Peach Haze." The product is a Fruited Hazy Pale Ale made with plenty of peaches from Peach Specialty Yamashita, a peach farm in Yamanashi City. It has an alcohol content of 5.0% and an IBU of 10. The product page notes that it has returned again this year as a popular, well-received release.
This beer follows the series that began as the first installment of the company’s "Yamanashi Support Project," launched in July 2020. From 2024, it has been reorganized under the name "Brewed with YAMANASHI," and continues as an effort to transform Yamanashi’s regional resources into beer and share them with drinkers. A key feature is that it leans into Yamanashi’s identity as a major peach-producing region while productizing the beer through collaboration with local producers.
On the recipe side, the beer uses the Hazy IPA-style yeast "Pomona" to reinforce the peach impression with aromas reminiscent of citrus and tropical fruit. The hop bill combines Idaho 7 Cryo, Citra, and Nectaron, adding citrus and tropical layers to the peach’s natural aroma. Rather than being a simple fruit beer, its point lies in a recipe designed around yeast and hops to elevate the fruit character.
Far Yeast Brewing is a brewery based in Kosuge Village, Yamanashi Prefecture, where it can use water from the source of the Tama River. In addition to its core lineup, it continues to produce limited-batch beers that make use of Yamanashi’s agricultural products and collaborations with the region, and "Far Yeast Peach Haze" has become one of its representative seasonal releases. It is a beer that should appeal not only to those who want to enjoy peach aroma, but also to beer fans interested in the design of hazy-style beers.
