The second beer in a three-release anniversary project

GRANDLINE BREWING, a craft brewery based in Yokosuka, Kanagawa, has announced the second beer in its 3rd anniversary brewing project, “3つのビール” (“Three Beers”). The release is a Brut IPA named “SUPERMERGE.”

Operated by Stay Hungry Inc., GRANDLINE BREWING opened on October 6, 2023. The brewery presents itself as a communication-focused brewery, aiming to create new connections and “great fusions” through beer while building a beer culture rooted in Yokosuka.

Dry, sharp and hop-forward

“SUPERMERGE” is a beer that had previously been tested and brewed externally before being reworked and reborn at GRANDLINE BREWING’s Yokosuka brewery. Its profile is built around a dry, sharp finish, with Southern Cross, Mosaic and Nelson Sauvin hops layered together.

The brewery says the beer combines a light body with a crisp, decisive finish and a clearly defined hop character. It has an alcohol content of 6.5%. The listed ingredients are barley malt, hops, carrageenan and carbon dioxide.

First pour at the anniversary event

“SUPERMERGE” is scheduled to receive its first pour at the GRANDLINE BREWING 3rd Anniversary Event “KANPAI YOKOSUKA,” taking place on October 3 and 4, 2026. The event will run from noon to 9 p.m. on both days at GRANDLINE BREWING in Ogawamachi, Yokosuka. The brewery says owners, brewers, staff, KANPAIDAN members and members of the CBP community will gather for the celebration.

Positioned as a symbol of the Yokosuka taproom, “SUPERMERGE” marks the next stage of a beer that began with trial brewing. For fans of dry, hop-driven beers, its first pour will be one of the highlights of GRANDLINE BREWING’s third anniversary.
