Hansharo Beer, a craft brewery based in Izunokuni, Shizuoka, has announced the release of its limited beer, “CROSS&FUSION.” As its name suggests, the beer brings together the contrasting strengths of West Coast IPA and Hazy IPA.

The listed style is Contemporary West Coast IPA. Its profile is built around the bright, clear appearance and sharp finish associated with West Coast IPA, while adding the juicy hop aroma often found in Hazy IPA. The result is intended to offer both a clean, refreshing bitterness and a fuller aromatic expression.

The hop bill includes Citra, Mosaic, Galaxy, Riwaka, and Simcoe, together with Citra Cryo, Mosaic Cryo, and Riwaka Cryo. The combination brings together citrus and tropical-fruit impressions, with Cryo hops adding another layer of concentrated aroma. Drinkers can expect an expressive nose followed by a dry, crisp finish.

“CROSS&FUSION” has an alcohol content of 6.5%. It is available in 350ml cans, as well as 10-liter and 15-liter kegs. The IBU has not been disclosed. Served in a glass, the beer should be well suited to appreciating the development of its hop aroma and texture from the first sip through the finish.

The project is sponsored by Atagawa Tropical & Alligator Garden, HILLS FIELD, Kadoike Co., Suruga Bank, and Mishima Shinkin Bank.

Hansharo Beer operates near the historic Nirayama Reverberatory Furnace in Izunokuni. Its parent company, Kuraya Narusawa, has roots in sake brewing, tea cultivation, and hospitality, and began brewing beer in 1997. The brewery balances established beer traditions with experimental recipes, producing both core beers and small-batch seasonal releases.

With crisp West Coast character and juicy hop intensity in the same glass, “CROSS&FUSION” offers a focused expression of two popular IPA directions in one limited release.
