Kagoshima Prefecture’s Kirishima-based Ashhead Brewery will hold an event at TOORINIWA in Kokubu Chuo, Kirishima City, on Saturday, April 11, from 15:00 to 23:00. The star of this event is Marumamen Kobo, which naturally grows barley, rice, and beans in Kirishima’s hilly inland areas. A new rice pilsner made with the group’s rice will be unveiled.

In addition to beer service, the event will also feature Marumamen Kobo’s special snacks, prepared especially for the day. Processed products will also be on sale, making this an event open not only to people coming for the beer, but also to visitors interested in the background of the food and ingredients. Food service will end once items sell out, so if you want to enjoy a meal as well, it would be best to arrive early.

Ashhead Brewery is known for crafting beer rooted in the land of Kirishima. Rather than being just a new product announcement, this event is designed as an opportunity for visitors to directly learn what kind of soil and climate the ingredients are grown in, and what thoughts lie behind that background. In its post, the brewery says it hopes visitors will enjoy the “deliciousness that lives in every grain” together with the beer.

Soft drinks will also be available at the venue, so even people who do not drink alcohol can easily take part. Payment will be cash only, on a cash-on basis. With a park located next door, the venue is also said to be a comfortable place for families with children and guests bringing dogs.
