Nutori Brewing Introduces Three Food Items for the Keyaki Hiroba Beer Festival
Nutori Brewing in Kawaguchi, Saitama, introduced its food menu for the Keyaki Hiroba Beer Festival on Instagram. From biscuits made with brewer's spent grain to its signature shumai skewers and beef tendon skewers, the lineup offers beer-friendly "nourishing meals."
Saitama Prefecture's Kawaguchi-based Nutori Brewing announced its event food menu on Instagram. In the post, following its beer menu feature, it said, "Today we're introducing the food," sharing the lineup prepared for its booth at the Keyaki Hiroba Beer Festival.
The first item introduced was Beer Bis. These are biscuits made using brewer's spent grain, a byproduct of the beer-making process, and production is handled by a nearby bakery. The biscuits are described as having a mild sweetness, making them suitable not only as a snack alongside beer but also as something to enjoy with tea. The idea of making use of a craft beer byproduct as an ingredient is very much in keeping with Nutori Brewing's style.
Another highlight is the taproom favorite, the house-made jumbo shumai skewer. It takes the shop's popular "Okami's homemade jumbo shumai" and turns it into an easy-to-eat one-handed skewer, offering a satisfying bite at the festival as well. At a festival where people move around with beer in hand, food that is easy to carry like this has a major presence.
Also appearing is the beef tendon skewer, which was first unveiled at a previous event. It is prepared with a combination of miso and citrus, and is said to be a popular menu item that has already sold out before. Its rich seasoning and refreshing aroma seem well suited to pair with a wide range of beer styles.
Nutori Brewing is a brewery based in the west exit area of Kawaguchi Station, and in its attached space it has served not only house-made beer but also shumai, seasonal side dishes, and game meat. In this post as well, its approach goes beyond simply pouring beer and clearly emphasizes enjoying it together with food. It is the kind of lineup that makes you want to decide not only what to drink at the festival, but also what to eat.
