GOOD HOPS (Good Hops) in Tono, Iwate Prefecture, has released taproom information for Saturday, May 2. In Tono, known as one of Japan's leading hop-producing regions, the brewery works from hop cultivation through brewing, and the lineup is designed to broaden the in-store experience in line with Anniversary Week.
Key points for May 2
- "Do Good" to be first tapped on draft
A limited release brewed to commemorate GOOD HOPS' first anniversary, it will be served in the taproom ahead of sales to bars and the online store.
- Anniversary merchandise on sale
Limited-design glasses and a "GOOD HOPS tenugui" will be sold in store.
- Open throughout the five-day holiday
The taproom will remain open during the long weekend starting tomorrow, giving visitors a chance to taste and compare beers on the spot.
Tap list for the day
Planned pours for May 2 are six varieties: `Do Good`, `MURAKAMI SEVEN IPA`, `MURAKAMI SEVEN LAGER`, `Tono no Kaze`, `The Classic Hops`, and `Twilight Cascade`. The brewery says `MURAKAMI SEVEN IPA` and `MURAKAMI SEVEN LAGER` are running low, so they look set to move quickly as the centerpiece beers of the anniversary event.
Food and canned items
Food includes mixed nuts, dried fruit and banana chips, Hokkaido edamame, potato fries, and fish and chips. Beer is listed at 650 yen for an M size and from 1,100 yen for an L size. The canned lineup is also broad, with the new items `MURAKAMI SEVEN IPA`, `MURAKAMI SEVEN LAGER`, `Tono no Kaze`, and `The Classic Hops`, plus `Twilight Cascade`, `Cheerful Nectaron`, `Lupulin Season`, `HAZY GOOD 2`, `SORACHI ACE RESPECT`, `Saaz Saaz`, `MOTUEKA RESPECT`, and `HAZY GOOD 1`.
GOOD HOPS launched its taproom in earnest in 2025 as a brewery rooted in Tono's hop culture. In this announcement, what stands out is that it offers both the pleasure of drinking on site and the pleasure of taking cans home. Hours are Saturday through Sunday and holidays, 11:00 to 18:00 (last order 17:30), and the location is 5-13 Shinkokucho, Tono City, a 2-minute walk from Tono Station.
