Otama Brewing, a microbrewery based in Sanwa Ward, Joetsu, Niigata, has released details for Otama Camp 2026. The event will take place at Oike Ikoi no Mori No. 3 Campground in Kubiki Ward, Joetsu. The campground occupies an island on the pond, offering a distinctive setting for an outdoor beer event.

The gathering is scheduled to begin around 1 p.m. on September 27, 2026. The venue is approximately a 23-minute walk from Oike Ikoi no Mori Station on the Hokuhoku Line. Parking is available for visitors arriving by car, although the brewery emphasizes that drinking and driving is strictly prohibited.

Otama beer served from a draft system

Otama Brewing will bring a draft beer server and offer several of its craft beers. The specific selection has not yet been announced. An all-you-can-drink ticket will cost ¥3,300 including tax, with service ending once the available kegs run out.

Those who wish to attend are asked to send a direct message to Otama Brewing’s Instagram account so the brewery can confirm attendance numbers and prepare enough beer. Participants should gather directly at the campground, while brewery representative Miyagawa is expected to arrive around 1 p.m.

A bring-and-share camp meal

Miyagawa will prepare some food, but the event is primarily designed around participants bringing dishes or ingredients to share. Rather than a fully catered festival, Otama Camp is intended as a participatory gathering shaped by the people attending.

The campground requests a voluntary cooperation payment of ¥2,000 per tent. Overnight campers should pay at the Oike Ikoi no Mori Visitor Center on the day of the event. For day campers, Otama Brewing will initially cover the payment, with participants asked to inform the brewery on site.

The daytime gathering will finish as it gets dark, while overnight campers can continue into the evening. Showers are available at the visitor center by reservation, so guests should contact the facility in advance if they wish to use them.
