Highlights of the Limited Brew

On May 30, Kamakura Beer will release "NICE KAMAKURA 60th Lemon Ale" to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the sister-city partnership between Kamakura City and Nice, France. This limited edition will be unveiled at the Kamakura Beer booth at Kamakura x Nice BLUE FESTA 2026, with a total run of 1,000 bottles. After its release, sales will also begin gradually at select French restaurants, bistros, and retail shops in the city.

This beer is a lemon ale made with French hops and domestically produced Japanese lemons. It is described as a refreshing, light-bodied brew that evokes the shared image of both cities as seaside towns. Another notable point is that it is designed to work as an aperitif, making it well suited for occasions when you want to freshen your palate before a meal.

Kamakura Beer is a brewery based in Omachi, Kamakura City, Kanagawa Prefecture. On its official website, the company emphasizes its commitment to a well-balanced beer that leaves an impression without getting in the way of the food, as well as beers designed to be enjoyed alongside meals. True to the company’s style, which reflects Kamakura’s identity as a tourist destination and its ongoing dedication to crafting beer that complements the local cuisine, this release feels like a fitting brew for a city milestone. On May 30, alongside the city’s events, this limited-edition beer is also worth paying attention to.
