Kamakura Beer to Host Its First “Beer & Fishing” Boat Trip
Kamakura Beer will host its first “Kamakura Beer & Fishing” event on October 28, 2026. Participants will enjoy boat fishing off the Kamakura coast before returning to the harbor for a toast with Kamakura Beer. The event is open to beginners and limited to the first eight applicants.
Fishing first, beer afterward
Kamakura Beer will hold its first “Kamakura Beer & Fishing” event on Wednesday, October 28, 2026. The experience combines a boat-fishing trip with a craft-beer toast at Kamakura Beer after returning to shore.
Participants will meet at 7:00 a.m. at Koshigoe Fishing Port, aboard the vessel Seiichimaru. The boat will depart once everyone has arrived and fish in the waters off Koshigoe, Enoshima, and Kamakura. The group is scheduled to return to the port around noon, toast at Kamakura Beer at 12:30 p.m., and finish at 3:00 p.m.
The event welcomes beginners and is limited to the first eight participants. At least six people are required for the trip to go ahead. The fee is ¥9,000 for adults and ¥7,000 for children through junior-high-school age. These are special introductory prices.
Equipment and supplies included
Rod and reel rental, one tackle rig, bait, ice, and a cooler are included, making it possible to join with minimal equipment. An electric reel is available for an additional ¥2,000, although first-time boat anglers are asked to use a manual reel.
Anyone taking fish home should bring an insulated bag, ice packs, plastic bags, and kitchen paper. The trip may be canceled if the captain determines that weather conditions make sailing unsafe. In that case, no cancellation fee will be charged. Participant cancellations incur a 50% fee from three days before the event and a 100% fee from the day before through the event date.
Kamakura Beer is a craft-beer brand born and brewed in Kamakura. The brewery received its beer-production license in 1998 and offers core beers including Tsuki, an altbier; Hoshi, a pale ale; and Hana, a brown ale. This event offers a distinctly local pairing: a morning on the waters around Kamakura followed by beer brewed in the same coastal city. Applications are being accepted through the sign-up information posted in Kamakura Beer’s Instagram Stories.
