Beppu Brewery unveiled a new spring-only release on Instagram: "a sour gose that tastes like Japanese sweets made with cherry blossoms." In the post, the style is listed as "Botanical Gose w/Cherry Leaves," and the alcohol content is stated to be 4.5%.

The flavor design combines a pale pink color inspired by cherry blossoms in spring with gentle acidity and a soft mineral character. The brewery says that coumarin from cherry leaves gives off a faint aroma, adding Japanese nuances reminiscent of sakura-yu and sakura mochi. It also notes that a subtle, vanilla-like rounded aroma is layered in, creating a light, easy-drinking finish.

Beppu Brewery is a brewery and restaurant located near JR Beppu Station in Beppu City, Oita Prefecture. On its official website, it promotes beer making based on the concept of "after a hot-spring bath," and also suggests pairings with dishes that make use of Beppu's hot spring culture and ingredients from Kyushu and Oita. Set against the atmosphere of Beppu, a tourist destination, the brewery aims to offer a drink that enriches the time spent traveling.

As for this spring-limited release, it is currently being served on draft at the restaurant. It is also on sale through a business-use e-commerce site, while the consumer e-commerce site is scheduled to go on sale soon. As a sour beer made with seasonal ingredients, it looks set to offer more ways to enjoy it both in the restaurant and to take home.
