Nomcraft Brewing unveils Pocket Hero, a 2.5% juicy micro IPA
Nomcraft Brewing, based in Aridagawa Town, Wakayama, introduced Pocket Hero, a Juicy Micro IPA at 2.5% ABV. Built with mango puree, passionfruit juice, and a hop-forward profile, it marks brewer Adam’s first attempt at a “nano beer.”
Nomcraft Brewing has introduced a new beer, Pocket Hero, from its base in Aridagawa Town, Wakayama. The beer is a Juicy Micro IPA with 2.5% ABV, designed to deliver a full IPA experience while keeping the alcohol level low.
According to the brewery’s post, the beer leans on hop-driven aromas of mango, citrus, and tropical fruit, then adds mango puree and passionfruit juice for a richer, juicier profile. The recipe uses simcoe, mosaic, talus, audaica, and riwaka hops, along with IPA malt, golden naked oats, malted oats, and flaked oats. It is fermented with Low ride yeast. The beer is listed at 30 IBU and 2.6 volumes of CO2, with low bitterness.
Brewer Adam describes the beer as Nomcraft’s first attempt at a “nano beer.” The goal was to avoid compromising on flavor even at a lower alcohol level. High-temperature mashing and a specialized yeast were used to build body and keep the beer satisfying, even at 2.5% ABV.
The tasting notes are mango, stone fruit, and passionfruit. Suggested pairings include fish tacos, Hawaiian pizza, and banana bread. That makes Pocket Hero a practical choice for drinkers looking for something lighter without leaving the IPA category.
Nomcraft Brewing itself is based in a renovated former nursery in Aridagawa Town and has long described its work as part of a craft-beer-driven approach to town building. This release fits that identity well: approachable, technically thoughtful, and anchored in hop character with a fruit-forward twist.
