A classic lager, Nomcraft-style
Nomcraft Brewing, based in Aridagawa, Wakayama, has introduced a new canned beer called German Pilsner. In its Instagram post, the brewery says the beer placed second in the IBC2025 German Pilsner category and describes it as having a clean bitterness, firm carbonation, and a light body. The brewery also says decoction was used to draw out a fuller malt character.
Nomcraft has built its brewery by renovating part of a former nursery school, pursuing what it calls "craft beer town building" in the community around it. Its international team brings experience from Portland, Chicago, and beyond, and the brewery has long worked across styles, from hop-forward American beers to classic lagers. This release fits neatly into that broader approach.
The beer is also listed as a new item in Nomcraft's online store at 620 yen. Rather than aiming for loud aromatics or heavy sweetness, it focuses on balance, crispness, and drinkability. It is the kind of lager that can sit naturally beside a meal and show how carefully made pilsner can be quietly compelling.
