On March 4, Good Hops announced the start of sales for its new beer, "Twilight Cascade." In the official announcement, it describes the IPA as centered on a balance between the citrus-like aroma of Tono-grown Cascade and malt sweetness.

According to the company, the Cascade hop was used after being crushed into lupulin powder that the brewery processes in-house. By layering in German Hersbrucker as well, the company says it gave the aroma profile a gentle herbal quality, resulting in a beer that combines brightness and calm. The release time was 3:00 p.m. on March 4.

Based in Tono City, Iwate Prefecture, Good Hops is a brewery that integrates brewing with hop cultivation, processing, and research. As domestic hop production continues to shrink, it is aiming to revive Japanese hops through reinvestment in cultivation sites and technological development. This new release also appears to be a statement of the company’s current position, showing how fully it can express the character of hops grown in the region.
