The "Yokobi x YMB RUN & BEER" event, carried out as a collaboration between Yellow Monkey Brewing and Yokohama Beer, was a one-day event themed on "running, drinking, and connecting the city and the brewery."

As stated on YMB's official website, the brewery operates with the mission of "the power of beer and sports." This project can be seen as taking that stance straight out into the city.

Program for the Day

- 13:00 Approx. 20 km course starting from YMB
- 15:00 Approx. 9 km course starting from Shin-Yokohama (East Plaza) as a meet-up start
- 17:00 Group toast after the finish

The 20 km course was for people who wanted a serious run. If the effort became too much along the way, participants could escape via the Blue Line, making it a setup that allowed for easy participation without pushing too hard. The 9 km course was on the lighter side, but the post also noted that it included some ups and downs before reaching Yokobi.

Highlights for Beer Fans

As a special feature for the day, a guest tap relay was held, with YMB beers being connected and served on the Yokohama Beer side. The running participation fee was 500 yen (includes 2 craft beers), and the event was structured so participants could toast both along the way and at the finish.

YMB representative Komada also joined the run, and people who did not join the run were still welcome to come just for the toast. The design, which brought runners, beginners, and people coming primarily for the beer to the same table, reflected both cooperation between local breweries and the broadening of Yokohama's craft beer culture.

It was an event that, in a way typical of YMB based in Kanagawa, showcased the intersection of sports and craft beer in an experiential format.
