Ise Kadoya Beer begins online sales of its limited-edition sake-lees hazy IPA, "SAKEKASU HAZY IPA ZAKU Shinryoku"
Ise Kadoya Beer has begun online sales of its limited beer "SAKEKASU HAZY IPA ZAKU Shinryoku," made with sake lees from Shimizu Seizaburo Shoten's renowned sake "Zaku." It is a beer that combines the ginjo aroma derived from the sake lees with the fruity character typical of a hazy IPA.
Ise Kadoya Beer, a craft beer maker based in Ise City, has started online sales of its limited product "SAKEKASU HAZY IPA ZAKU Shinryoku." In an Instagram post on April 22, the company announced, "You can purchase it from today on our online shop," and has begun offering it through its own direct sales channel.
This beer is a collaboration product made with sake lees from "Zaku," a celebrated sake by Shimizu Seizaburo Shoten, a brewery in Mie. It has also been selected as a Mie Prefecture-certified recommended product, "Mie Selection," and is designed by combining two different elements: sake lees and hazy IPA. On the product page, the style is listed as "sake yeast, juicy & hazy IPA," with 6.5% alcohol and 35 IBU.
In the tasting description, it is said to have a ginjo aroma reminiscent of pineapple and apple, with a finish that feels even more refreshing than the previous version. The product page also says that there are nuances like white wine beneath aromas of tangerine, grapefruit, and pine, and that the aftertaste derived from the sake lees can also be enjoyed. The price for one 350 ml can is 880 yen, tax included.
Ise Kadoya Beer is a brewery rooted in the long-established Nikenchaya Kadoya Mochiten in Ise, Mie. The brewery continues to make beer that makes use of local fermentation culture and locally sourced ingredients, and this "ZAKU" release is another beer that clearly reflects that direction.
