Setouchi Brewery has released "HOP HOPPING ROOM001" as the first beer in its new "HOP HOPPING" series. The concept behind the series is to focus on a single hop and make its individuality the star. Each bottle opens the door to a new "ROOM," with the KEY HOP guiding the experience.

For this ROOM001, the brewery chose Elani®. On the product page, it is introduced as a new hop with soft tropical aromas reminiscent of peach and guava. The aroma opens with tropical notes, then layers in deep green nuances, bitterness, and citrus, resulting in an IPA that aims for a balance between bitterness and softness.

The specs are India Pale Ale, with an alcohol content of 6.5%. In addition to using oats to soften the mouthfeel, the beer also incorporates a special method designed to draw out the hop's flavorful components. Rather than going for flashiness, the beer leaves a strong impression by carefully showcasing the hop's own character.

Setouchi Brewery is based in Takamatsu, Kagawa Prefecture, and handles everything in-house, from planning and brewing to shipping. Surrounded by the natural environment of the Setouchi region, the brewery has continued crafting beers that reflect the atmosphere of the area, so this new series can also be seen as a beer in which the character of the land and the brewer's perspective naturally overlap.

"HOP HOPPING ROOM001" is a new release for beer lovers who want to take their time and appreciate the differences between hops. It will also be interesting to see which hops the series chooses next, and what kind of "ROOM" it opens.
