A craft beer stop after the fireworks

Jiyugaoka beer pub Kokage Sakaba announced its October 3 service ahead of the Futakotamagawa fireworks. The pub encouraged visitors to make it their second stop after the show, pairing craft beer with good food while enjoying the lingering atmosphere of the evening. The announcement also noted that seats were available that day.

The featured pour was Tsukimi Udon Hazy IPA from Setouchi Brewery, officially listed by Setouchi Beer as Tsukimi Udon HAZY DOUBLE IPA. Despite its playful Japanese noodle-inspired name, this is a hazy double IPA. Setouchi Beer describes it as having gentle malt character, moderate richness and a clean, approachable finish. Local wheat from Kagawa is used in the beer, contributing to its soft, cloudy appearance.

Rather than relying only on intense hop impact, the beer is designed around a smooth aroma and an easy-drinking texture that works well with food. That makes it a natural choice for settling into a meal after the fireworks. Its listed ABV is 8.0%, however, so the soft profile should not obscure its strength; it is best enjoyed slowly.

Kokage Sakaba is located on the second floor at 2-15-6 Jiyugaoka, Meguro, Tokyo. Regular hours are listed as 5 p.m. to midnight Sunday through Thursday, and 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Fridays, Saturdays and nights before holidays. The pub also accepts reservations for rooftop BBQs. For beer lovers looking to extend the night, Tsukimi Udon Hazy IPA offers a distinctive, food-friendly way to toast the fireworks.
