A strawberry-driven release from Yokohama

Yellow Monkey Brewing, a brewery based in Yokohama, will release its new beer `ICHIGOYA` on Saturday, June 27. The beer will be sold at the YMB taproom and through the web shop, with wholesale distribution also planned for trade accounts.

For this release, the brewery used Star Night strawberries grown by `Ichigoya Atorie`, a farm in Kofu, Yamanashi Prefecture. The fruit was turned into 60 kg of puree and added directly to the fermentation tank. According to YMB, the goal was not to build strawberry flavor artificially, but to let the fruit itself lead the beer.

As a result, the beer is designed around aroma, acidity, and fresh fruit character rather than a flashy red or pink appearance. The brewery describes it as a strawberry beer that focuses on the natural appeal of the ingredient, with the bright aroma and gentle acidity of the Star Night variety taking center stage.

Yellow Monkey Brewing is built around the mission of connecting people and spreading smiles through beer and sports. The brewery also presents itself as a community hub in Yokohama, aiming to keep the distance between brewers and drinkers close. `ICHIGOYA` fits that approach as a seasonal release that brings a local fruit story into the glass.
