Minoh Beer, based in Minoh City, Osaka, announced on Instagram that online reservations for Peach Weizen (Hakuhou Ver.) opened at 5 p.m. on August 22. The beer is the second release in the brewery’s annual Kokusan Momo Weizen series, which is brewed in four batches timed to the peach harvest and follows the first release, Wase.
The beer uses Arakawa peaches from Hachiki Farm in Wakayama. According to the brewery, Hakuhou is a variety known for its juicy flesh and elegant sweetness. Its fruity character is layered with the clove- and banana-like notes typical of weizen yeast, while 50% wheat malt gives the beer a soft mouthfeel. The finish is kept dry and crisp so the fruit character stays within a beer-driven profile.
The official product information lists the beer at 5.0% ABV, 12 IBU, and a milky-white appearance. It is best served at 8–12°C and is unfiltered. Minoh Beer is known for its classic styles as well as seasonal beers that use local citrus and fruit, and Peach Weizen has become one of its most recognizable summer releases.
